PPP 101 is a South African-engineered nano-reinforced polymer, professionally applied to the inside of the tyre to help defend against punctures, reduce pressure-loss disruption and support safer mobility.
PPP 101 is professionally bonded to the inner tyre surface through a controlled application process. The aim is to interrupt the failure chain early: puncture → pressure loss → roadside breakdown or loss of control → secondary cost and risk.
Designed for tread-area penetrations from nails, screws, glass, wire, thorns and similar hazards, with the PPP site citing protection for punctures up to approximately 10 mm.
A hot-melt nano-reinforced polymer is applied to the inside of the tyre rather than added as a free-moving liquid. PPP states that protection is designed to last for the tyre's service life.
PPP Africa offers fleet-focused support including bulk-pricing discussions, on-site treatment options, treatment traceability and SmartBay NFC/RFID-linked records.
Positioned for South African conditions including road debris, deliberate spike threats, long-distance travel, fleet downtime and the pressure-loss chain that can follow tyre damage.
The system depends on correct preparation, application and quality control. PPP 101 is fitted by trained technicians at approved application centres.
The tyre is removed from the rim and professionally cleaned/prepared so the inner surface is ready to receive the polymer.
PPP 101 is applied as a hot-melt inner layer with purpose-built, calibrated machinery and a controlled heating/feed process.
The treated tyre is refitted and professionally balanced. PPP states that the polymer does not interfere with direct or indirect TPMS operation.
The bonded protective layer remains inside the tyre. A full set is typically described by PPP as taking around 1½ hours, depending on the application setup and vehicle.
PPP's public technical summary describes polymer/material characterisation, MSDS and technical data support, controlled raceway thermal evaluations, fitment SOPs, quality-control processes, field evidence and traceability.
PPP's own technical communication states that PPP 101 does not make a tyre indestructible, does not prevent severe sidewall or rim damage, and does not replace correct inflation, alignment, balancing, inspection or timely tyre replacement.

No. PPP describes it as a controlled hot-melt polymer system bonded to the inner tyre casing, rather than a free-moving liquid sealant or temporary tyre-shop repair.
PPP states that the treatment is engineered to last for the operational life of the tyre under normal conditions, with reapplication normally required when the tyre itself is replaced.
PPP states that PPP 101 does not interfere with direct valve/wheel-mounted TPMS sensors or indirect TPMS systems based on ABS wheel-speed data.
The public PPP FAQ cites tread-area punctures from nails, screws, glass, wire, thorns and similar penetrations up to approximately 10 mm. Severe sidewall cuts, structural ruptures and rim damage remain outside this protection scope.
It cannot prevent a pothole from damaging a rim, suspension component or severely cutting a sidewall. PPP positions the benefit as helping reduce pressure-loss escalation after certain tyre injuries, rather than making pothole damage impossible.
Yes. PPP promotes tailored fleet solutions including bulk-pricing discussions, on-site treatment options, traceability and reporting through its SmartBay programme.
PPP says pricing varies by tyre size and the amount of polymer required. Use the estimate enquiry on this page or contact an approved agent for vehicle-specific pricing.
